Did you know most people only breathe to 20-30% of their lung capacity?
And yet 70% of our body’s detoxification depends on our breathing? (In fact we can literally breathe our weight off!)
While we were all born to know how to breathe, dysfunctional breathing patterns often develop from distressful moments in life, contributing to chronic states of fatigue, anxiety, numbness, lack…..This results in reduced resilience in handle daily stresses and inability to heal from emotional trauma.
We can change these non-resourceful states by changing our breathing and expanding our “container” to process life experiences, increase our resilience and connection to our innate joy, peace and wisdom.
What to expect?
Sessions are 75 mins long. You will be led through a guided breathing process supported by carefully curated music and guidance, like in a guided meditation. You will experience and practise conscious breathing, mindfulness, visualisation, and you can start self practice to RESET your body’s impulses to become more adaptable.
Some may experience deep trauma healing with regular practice. If you are new to using breathwork to reach a transcendent state for deep healing, this session helps you to start RESOURCING yourself and to create a SAFE container, preparing you for accelerated healing, bypassing the barrier of the cognitive mind.
Overtime, you can effectively reset to a more optimal breathing pattern so your body has a new memory for ongoing health and vitality.
Why is it so effective?
This practice is inspired by Rebirthing, Holotropic and Shamanic Breathwork, and enhanced with our understanding in healing facilitation and safety. Many have found similar practice can access what years of traditional therapy cannot because it works on the somatic level and reach memories that formed before one's verbal phase. (And it can well complement cognitive behavioural therapy.)
Why does our body hold restrictive instinctual patterns is often due to "frozen" trauma memories. Deep level healing requires energy. Regular practice with guidance can help us to build up our resources while releasing limiting patterns that block our growth and healing.
Facilitator
Anita Cheung is an interdisciplinary health practitioner and transformation specialist, operating since 2005, and founder of iLiving (formerly i-Detox) Wellness centre in Hong Kong.
Being an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person), Anita has been sensitive to all sensory inputs since a young age – smell, sound, sights, touch & taste are all sources of joy and pleasure and can also be overwhelming. Working in fashion prior to becoming a healing practitioner has been satisfying to her interest in the “finer things in life”. 16 years after, Anita continues to be drawn to the “finer things in life” and what brings joy and pleasure. While she has studied and been trained in multiple wellness and transformational modalities, including Bioresonance (which is inaudible vibrational medicine), harmonising and transcendent vibrations from singing bowls, sacred music, as well as aromatics continue to be an important part of her healing tools and personal wellness resource.
She draws on a number of her favourite tools in delivering this popular experience offered in iLiving.
